ABOUT ABOUT

Mental Health First Aid is a public education program designed to teach everyday citizens the skills to help another person who is struggling with a mental health concern or crisis. This evidence-based program provides a comprehensive overview of the most common mental health issues and a step by step action plan.

This class requires that online prework be completed before attending the in person class on November 17. The prework should take 1.5-2 hours to complete and you will receive an email from Mental Health First Aid, within two weeks prior to the class, to set up your account and complete the work.

There will be morning and afternoon breaks and a lunch break. Participants will not need to bring any materials or a laptop to the class, everything will be provided.

Each participant receives access to the Mental Health First Aid online manual, and certification by the National Council for Behavioral Health as a "Mental Health First Aider." Certification is valid for a period of 3 years, and then renewable online.
